Ticket Guard Event

Overview

Most entertainment event tickets are non-refundable, we will reimburse you face value for your ticket up to $250 per ticket.  This benefit allows you to buy your event tickets with confidence, knowing if you are unable to attend due to a covered reason, you will be reimbursed.

  • Provides protection of up to $250 per ticket (4 tickets per event) $1,000 maximum per year, plus up to an additional 10% service fee in the event a member is unable to attend a recreation, sports, entertainment or theater event due to a covered reason.

Description

Provides protection of up to $250.00 per ticket (4 tickets per event) $1,000 maximum per year, plus up to an additional 10% service fee in the event a Member is unable to attend a recreation, sports, entertainment or theater event due to a covered reason.

As a Member, when you purchase a ticket to any recreation, sports, entertainment or theater event and pay for it in full, You will automatically be covered by Ticket Guard. Ticket Guard will provide you with a refund of the Face Value of the ticket price for a maximum Face Value of $250 per ticket, should You, or any person you gave the ticket to, be unable to attend the event for a Covered Reason. In addition to the non refundable portion of the Covered Ticket, You would also be entitled to a refund of any applicable service fee charged for the Covered Tickets – up to 10% of each Covered Ticket’s Face Value. Your total annual limit of coverage is $1000 per member. Words beginning with Capital letters are defined within this text. The effective date of coverage will be the date your Membership becomes effective. Your coverage will remain in place for one (1) year or as long as you remain a Member.

Covered Causes of Loss:

  • An injury, sickness or death to yourself, an immediate family Member defined as husband, wife, mother, father, son, daughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law and/or any person receiving Covered Tickets from you as a gift.
  • Strike, industrial action, breakdown or adverse weather conditions which cause a failure or delay of public transportation services and which in turn prevent a Member, and or persons receiving Covered Tickets as gifts from Members, from using a covered Ticket.
  • Unexpected travel required by a member and or persons receiving Covered Tickets as gifts from Members, which require a trip of more than 100 miles and an overnight stay, which prevents a Member, and or persons receiving Covered Tickets as gift from Members, from using a Covered Ticket.

Exclusions:  Coverage and reimbursement will be denied if a loss is caused by or results from any of the following:

  • Cancellation, abandonment, postponement, curtailment or relocation, in whole or in part of the event.
  • Disinclination to travel to the event.
  • Strike, industrial action, breakdown or adverse weather conditions which cause a failure or delay of public transportation services in respect of which a warning in the public media has been given twenty-four (24) hours prior to the Member’s, and or persons receiving Covered Tickets as gifts from Members, departure for the event.
  • Road traffic accident for which the Member, and or persons receiving Covered Tickets as gifts from Members, is to blame as evidenced by a police report; or
  • Series/season tickets, multi-day pass tickets.
  • Acts of terrorism.

Conditions: Each Member must comply with all of the following:

  • The Member knows of no illness of any person listed in the Covered Causes of Loss section, as defined in this Description of Coverage, when a Covered Ticket is purchased that would inhibit their ability to attend the event.
  • The Member makes all necessary preliminary arrangements for timely arrival to the event.
  • The Member is not aware of any material fact, matter or circumstance at the time a Covered Ticket is purchased which is likely to give raise to a claim hereunder.
  • The Member shall use due diligence and do, and concur in doing, all things reasonably practicable to avoid or diminish any Loss covered under this Plan.
  • The Members must provide complete proof of purchase in the form of receipts.


Limits of Coverage:

Once a Member has purchased a Covered ticket to an event and is eligible for benefits under the Plan due to a Covered Cause of Loss, benefits will be paid only to the Member who purchased the Covered Tickets. The maximum, which will be paid, is the smallest of the following amounts:

  • The Face Value of the Covered Ticket, up to a maximum of $250 per Covered Ticket, and any processing fees, up to 10% of the Face Value of the Covered Ticket; or
  • Total maximum benefit can reach up to $1,000 per Member per year.

Definitions:

  • Claims administrator means: cynoSure Financial.
  • Covered Ticket means: a ticket issued on paper to a recreation, sports, entertainment, or theatrical event purchased by a Member and paid for in full by the Member.
  • Event means: the recreational, sport, entertainment, or theatrical event for which a Covered Ticket is purchased.
  • Loss means: the difference between the Face Value of a Covered Ticket and the maximum amount of any refund available to Member.
  • You, Your and Member means: an enrolled or active Member in a program
  • Face Value means: the cost of each Covered Ticket as printed on each Covered Ticket.
