Auto Collision Damage Waiver

Overview

This benefit will cover you in a rental car for any collision, comprehensive or loss of that vehicle.  Don't pay the rental car companies big bucks for insurance, utilize this benefit as part of your plan, especially if you travel and rent cars often.

  • This benefit provides primary coverage on vehicle theft, loss, or damage to a Rental Vehicle, and is payable subject to the deductible amount only for the cost to repair the damaged vehicle, or the replacement of the Rental Vehicle in the event of theft for which the Rental Vehicle has not been recovered, and up to the Maximum Limit shown on the Listing of Benefits.
  • The following will be paid: for collision, comprehensive damage and other loss or damage to a Rental Vehicle for which the car rental contract holds the Member responsible. A rented vehicle must be designed for travel on public roads and must be rented from a recognized, licensed auto rental company.
  • The Member will be reimbursed on an actual cash value basis for which the Member is responsible when the loss occurs anywhere in the world.
  • Expenses will also be paid for the charge for the loss of use of the Rental Vehicle while it is being repaired up to a maximum of five (5) days at a rate of $30.00 per day up to a maximum of $150.00.
  • Rental car provider must demonstrate that there were no other vehicles available for rental at the time of the loss and for the entire five (5) day period.

Description

Exclusions:

No payments will be made for obligations the Member assumes under any agreement. No coverage will be made for the use of the rental car in violation of the Rental Vehicle agreement. Also excluded is any liability, personal injury and property damage for which the car rental contract may or may not hold the Member responsible. Off-road, Antique or Limited Edition Vehicles are excluded, as are trucks, recreational vehicles, campers, pick-up trucks with a manufacturers load rating in excess of 2000 lbs. and mini-buses with greater than (7) passenger capacity.

This coverage has a $250.00 deductible per Accident.

Coverage does not apply to loss resulting from the following:

  1. Any dishonest, fraudulent or criminal act of the Member.
  2. Forgery by the Member.
  3. Loss due to war or confiscation by authorities.
  4. Loss due to nuclear reaction or radioactive contamination
  5. The Member being intoxicated, as defined by the laws of the jurisdiction where the loss occurred, or
     under the influence of any narcotic unless prescribed by a physician.
  6. Intentional damage to the Rented Automobile by the Member.
  7. Damage which is due and confined to wear and tear, freezing, mechanical or electrical breakdown or
    failure, unless such damage results from a theft covered by the Plan.
  8. Damage to tires unless damaged by fire, malicious mischief or vandalism, or stolen or unless the
    loss be coincident with the covered loss.
  9. Use of the Rental Vehicle to carry passengers and property for hire.
  10. Use of the Rental Vehicle in tests, races or contests.
  11. Use of the Rental Vehicle by a person other than the one authorized to operate the Rental Vehicle by
     the terms of the Rental Agreement.
  12. The Rental Vehicle being operated or located in any territory prohibited by the terms of the Rental
     Agreement.
  13. Loss of the use of the Rental Vehicle beyond five (5) days from the date of the Accident

How To File a Claim

How to File a Claim:

  1. Call 1-800-771-4280 to report your claim within (five) 5 days of the date of your loss.  You will be sent a Claim Form.
  2. Complete the Claim Form and return it along with any other requested information.
