Auto Lemon Law Coverage

Overview

Want extra protection from being sold a "lemon"? This benefit will reimburse you for any difference between the amount the Manufacturer, its Agent, or its Authorized Dealer, refunds to you for the returned motor vehicle and the amount needed to purchase another motor vehicle of the same make, model, and year up to a maximum of $15,000.

  • Replacement or reimbursement cost of vehicle, up to $15,000, if vehicle is determined to be a lemon by the state DMV.

Description

If You, as an existing Member, purchase a new motor vehicle and during the first year of this new vehicle’s operation it is determined to be a “Lemon” under your State Lemon Law, this benefit will reimburse You for any difference between the amount the Manufacturer, its Agent, or its Authorized Dealer, refunds to You for the returned motor vehicle and the amount needed to purchase another motor vehicle of the same make, model, and year up to a maximum of $15,000.

If the Manufacturer, its Agent, or its Authorized Dealer replaces the motor vehicle with a new motor vehicle, acceptable to You, there are no benefits paid under this coverage.

In the event there is no Lemon Law in the State in which the vehicle is registered, the Lemon Law for the State of Ohio will apply to claim adjusting.

This coverage will not provide benefits:

  • If You are not an existing Member at the time the motor vehicle is determined to be a “Lemon” under the State Lemon Law in the State the vehicle is registered;
  • If You are not an existing Member at the time the claim is filed and/or paid;
  • If any amounts are sought after, without making a claim to the Manufacturer, under the State Lemon Law.

How To File a Claim

How to file a claim:

You should call the Claims Administrator at 1-800-711-4280.  The Claims Administrator will send You a Lemon Law Claim Form to complete. Once completed, it must be mailed back to the Administrator with:

  • Documentation showing You purchased the motor vehicle;
  • Written evidence that You made a claim to the Manufacturer; and
  • A copy of the check issued to You by the Manufacturer, its Agent, or an Authorized Dealer, showing reimbursement for the motor vehicle You purchased, and that was deemed
