Extended Service Protection

Overview

This will allow you to extend any manufacturers warranty on a purchase you make for an additional 12 months.  Typical Items Covered by This Benefit: Home Appliances (not built-in), Audio Equipment, Desktop Computers, Laptop Computers, Televisions, Power Tools, and Home Electronic Equipment.

  • Provides extension of manufacturers warranty up to an additional 12 months for warranties up to 12 months (but no more than twenty-four (24) months) on new items purchased by the member.

Description

COVERAGE AGREEMENT:
Extended Service Protection will double the original manufacturer’s warranty time period up to twelve (12) months and provide coverage similar to the original manufacturer’s U.S warranty or store brand warranty on many items You purchase while You are Member.  This benefit will provide similar coverage as given by the original manufacturer’s U.S. warranty or store brand warranty, subject to the conditions, exclusions, and limitations contained herein. If the item You purchased comes with an original manufacturer’s U.S. warranty or store brand warranty that exceeds twenty-four (24) months, this coverage does not apply. Coverage begins the day after the original manufacturer’s U.S. warranty or store brand warranty expires.  For items with different warranty time periods or coverages for different components (i.e. three (3) months coverage for labor vs. twelve (12) months for parts), each component’s warranty time period will be duplicated, at a similar coverage level, up to a maximum of twelve (12) months.

TO RECEIVE COVERAGE:
Your membership must be active and in good standing on the purchase date of the item and remain active and in good standing on the date You call the Administrator to report a claim for a claim to be eligible for coverage. You must pay for the entire cost of the item with any form of legal tender and You must receive a valid receipt.  The item must be for Your personal use.  The item must have a purchase price of $5,000 USD or less to be eligible for coverage.

COVERAGE LIMITATIONS:
Coverage for repair or replacement of an item shall be limited to the actual repair cost or actual replacement cost or original purchase price (as documented by Your purchase receipt) whichever is less, not to exceed $1,000 USD per claim. Payment is net of any applicable storage, shipping, handling, postage, transportation, and delivery charges. Coverage is limited to a maximum of $5,000 USD per Member per any twelve (12) month period.
We will decide if an item will be repaired or replaced, or whether You will be reimbursed up to the original purchase price of the item.  Items will be replaced with an item of like kind and like quality (We cannot guarantee to match exact color, material, brand, size, or model).
Diagnostic and teardown costs will be the responsibility of the Member if the product failure is not covered under this benefit.
Coverage under this benefit is excess of any valid and collectible warranty, insurance, or indemnity benefit available to You. 

WHAT IS NOT COVERED:
1.  PLANS, SHRUBS, ANIMALS, CONSUMABLES, AND PERISHABLES.
2.  REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS PERFORMED WITHOUT OUR PRIOR AUTHORIZATION.
3.  JEWELRY, ART, ANTIQUE ITEMS, COLLECTIBLES OF ANY KIND, RECYCLED, PREVIOUSLY OWNED, REFURBISHED, REBUILT, OR REMANUFACTURED ITEMS.
4.  PRODUCT GUARANTEES OR SATISFACTION GUARANTEES.
5.  PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (TO INCLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OR RENDERING OF LABOR OR MAINTENANCE; REPAIR OR INSTALLATION OF PRODUCTS, GOODS OR PROPERTY); PROFESSIONAL ADVICE OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED FOR SOFTWARE, HARDWARE, OR ANY OTHER PERIPHERALS.
6.  MOTORIZED VEHICLES, TO INCLUDE AUTOMOBILES, WATERCRAFT/BOATS, AIRCRAFT, AND MOTORCYCLES, OR THEIR MOTORS, EQUIPMENT, OR ACCESSORIES.
7.  LAND, ANY BUILDINGS (TO INCLUDE HOMES AND DWELLINGS), PERMANENTLY INSTALLED ITEMS, FIXTURES, OR STRUCTURES.
8.  TRAVELER’S CHECKS, TICKETS OF ANY KIND (TO INCLUDE AIRLINES, SPORTING EVENTS, CONCERTS, OR LOTTERY), NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS, BULLION, RARE OR PRECIOUS METALS, STAMPS, COINS, OR CURRENCY.
9.  ITEMS WITH A PURCHASE PRICE GREATER THAN $5,000 USD                                                            10. ANY SHIPPING CHARGES, TRANSPORTATION AND DELIVERY CHARGES INCURRED BY YOU WHEN YOU PURCHASE THE ITEM, OR PROMISED TIME FRAMES FOR DELIVERY, WHETHER OR NOT STATED OR COVERED BY THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER’S U.S. WARRANTY OR STORE BRAND WARRANTY.
11. ANY PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE ITEM.
12.  ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY ACTS OF GOD (TO INCLUDE FLOOD, HURRICANE, WIND, FIRE, LIGHTNING, AND EARTHQUAKE).
13. ITEMS PURCHASE FOR RESALE, PROFESSIONAL, OR COMMERCIAL USE.
14. MECHNICAL FAILURES CAUSED BY POWER SURGE, ALTERATIONS, MODIFICATIONS, MOLD, NEGLIGENCE, ABUSE, VANDALISM, THEFT, IMPROPER INSTALLATION, PEST OR PET DAMAGE.
15. ANY EXPENSES INCURRED TO REPAIR A MECHANICAL FAILURE ASSOCIATED WITH A PRODUCT RECALL.
16. CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES.
17. ITEMS PURCHASED BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN YOU.
18. ITEMS THAT DO NOT COME WITH AN ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER’S U.S. WARRANTY OR STORE BRAND WARRANTY.
19. ITEMS PURCHASED OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES OR ITEMS DELIVERED FROM OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES. 
20. DAMAGE CAUSED BY NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR OR GRADUAL DETERIORATION WHERE NO FAILURE HAS OCCURRED.
21. REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS OF COVERED ITEMS THAT ARE OTHERWISE COVERED UNDER ANY OTHER TYPE OF MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY, SERVICE AGREEMENT, OR INSURANCE POLICY.
22. BUILT-IN APPLIANCES (APPLIANCES THAT ARE HARD WIRED, PLUMBED, AND/OR CONNECTED TO A STRUCTURE).  EXAMPLES OF BUILT-IN APPLIANCES INCLUDE: COOK TOP, WALL OVEN, MICROWAVE, CEILING FAN, GARAGE DOOR OPENER, FURNANCE, HEAT PUMP, WHOLE HOME AIR CONDITIONING UNIT.  SEE TYPICAL ITEMS COVERED BY THIS BENEFIT SECTION FOR EXAMPLES OF COVERED, NON-BUILT IN APPLIANCES.

How To File a Claim

How to file a claim:

Call the Administrator at 800-711-4280 upon discovery of an eligible item’s failure, but prior to having the items repaired or replaced, to report the failure and receive a claim form.  You must report the failure to the Administrator within fifteen (15) days or Your claim may be denied.  Repairs or replacements completed without the Administrator’s prior authorization may result in Your claim being denied. 
You will be sent a claim form which must be completed, signed and returned to: cynoSure Financial Inc. with all the requested documentation within ninety (90) days of the failure date. 

You must include:
o Completed and signed claim form.
o  Original itemized and dated receipt.
o  Original manufacturer’s U.S. warranty or store brand warranty. 
o  Repair estimate from an authorized repair service provider approved by the Administrator.
o  Any other documentation the We may reasonably request to validate a claim.
